Another Greenwood - New Orleans

By coincidence, the cemetery I visited on my third trip to New Orleans was also named Greenwood. It's the final resting place of John Kennedy Toole, whose posthumously published novel, Confederacy of Dunces, I have started reading at least half a dozen times, but never finished.

Monuments in New Orleans and surroundings are above ground, due to the city being
below sea level. Graves dug into the ground would quickly fill up with water.

  1. I've always loved cemeteries. There's just something about them.
